Hi! I’m Katie.
I help parents teach their grown up children about personal finance—topics like budgeting, finding a job, and saving for retirement. Here at Money After College you’ll find resources for parents who want their kids to build healthy money habits and become financially independent adults.
I believe learning about personal finance is a lifelong process. There’s always room for improving our money habits. Recent grads and millennials face many financial challenges, and parents have a unique opportunity to help instill healthy financial habits in their grown kids as they enter this new life stage.
A bit more about me:
From a young age, my parents taught me the importance of saving, even encouraging me to open a Roth IRA before I graduated college. At a young age I taught myself the basics, and then the not-so-basics, of personal finance. Without my parents initial guidance, I never would have developed the healthy financial habits I have today. My goal is to help parents take their kids on a similar journey.
I live in Brooklyn, NY with my boyfriend and adorable rescue dog, Missy. When I’m not talking about Roth IRA’s and emergency funds, you’ll find me baking bread, training for a 5K, and planning my next big trip. This year I’m headed to Russia, the Netherlands, England, Mexico, and Ethiopia!
